Our Programs

While many outdoor education organizations, such as Scouts, Junior Forest Wardens and school groups utilize our facility, Narrow Lake Conservation Centre runs only two programs of their own – Narrow Lake Youth Camp and OWLSS (Outdoor Women Learning Survival  Skills)

Narrow Lake Youth Camp

Youth camp is run for one week, twice a year, in July. Two levels of camp are offered:

Basic Camp –
activities include Hunter Education, Firearm Safety, Boater Safety, Outdoor Survival, Archery, Field Position Shooting, Canoeing, Kayaking and so much more!

Advanced Camp –
campers must have completed Basic Camp to register. Activities include Narrow Lake Restricted Firearm Safety, Advanced Outdoor Skills, Leadership Training, Archery, Outdoor Survival, Canoeing, Kayaking and more.

These camps provide a safe environment in which students, ages 12-17, are taught the fundamentals of ethical hunting and fishing, proper usage, storage and handling of firearms, outdoor safety and survival skills on land and water. Students learn how to be part of a team through classes, leadership and teamwork.

Camp registration opens on the NLYC website January 1st, and with a limit of 70 students per camp, is usually full within the first 2 days.

OWLSS - Outdoor Women Learning Survival Skills

OWLSS operates an annual camp aimed to educate and empower women of all backgrounds in outdoor skills.  This is an outdoor-focused camp; all instruction occurring outdoors.  Every participant will have the opportunity to learn each skill in a way dedicated to women learning and growing their skills in a comfortable, safe way.  Our program changes from year to year.  For more information, please reach out or follow us online https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61587766014425
