2 Year Term ; 2-8 hours per month
Must be a valid member in one of the Zone 4 or Zone 5 Alberta Fish and Game Associations.
The treasurer is an active member of the Board of Directors, which meets in person a minimum of 4 times a year. The Treasurer manages the finances of the organization, reports on the financial position of projects, programs and the facility itself.
Ideal candidate should have a background in accounting, banking or finance and a passion for outdoor education and conservation.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Carrying out the financial matters and keeping the financial records of the organization in order
- Ensuring a yearly financial report is reviewed by the Financial Review Committee prior to the Annual General Meeting
- General bookkeeping duties such as deposits, receipts, invoices, bank reconciliations etc.
- Serves on the Executive Committee
- Gives regular reports to the Board on the financial state of the organization
- Signs official documents of the organization as required
- Prepares and monitors overall budget
- Files necessary financial reports with Alberta Registries
- Reports annual membership to AFGA
- Maintains AGLC license compliance and reporting requirements
